After living a great healthy life, Bobi earned his wings and flew away from us. He faced a few health issues like breathing difficulties, poor eyesight, and trouble walking before he gave up his last breath but besides all that, he lived a healthy, worry-free, and trouble-free life breaking the oldest dog Bluey Guinness World record for living the longest life.

World Record holder Bobi was a purebred Rafeiro do Alentejo.
Bobi lived for 31 years and 165 days, which is 11,478 days on Earth which is 172 dog years, compared to humans.
A veterinarian called Dr Karen Becker who met Bobi several times, announced Bobi’s death on Social media on October 23.
Last night, this sweet boy earned his wings.
Despite outliving every dog in history, his 11,478 days on earth would never be enough, for those who loved him. When we asked Leonel what his recipe was for Bobi’s exceptionally long life, his response was swift: “Good nutrition, constant contact with nature, freedom to discover his environment, consistent veterinary care, and love. Bobi knows he’s deeply loved.”

In February, Bobi achieved the remarkable feat of becoming the world’s oldest living dog and the oldest dog ever recorded, surpassing a nearly century-old record for the latter title.
Before Bobi, the title of the oldest dog ever recorded belonged to Bluey from Australia, who passed away in 1939 at the remarkable age of 29 years and five months.
Bobi’s impressive longevity was officially confirmed through the Portuguese government’s pet database, overseen by the National Union of Veterinarians.
Bobi was born with three siblings in an outbuilding and grew up as a cherished member of the Costa household.
Bobi spent his entire life with the Costa family in the village of Conqueiros, near Portugal’s west coast.
When Lionel Costa was just eight years old, his father had to put down Bobi’s 3 siblings because they had too many animals in their house, but fortunately Bobi escaped and later become family member of Costas.
Mr. Costa and his brothers kept the dog hidden from their parents. Eventually, their parents found out, and the dog became a part of the family. They fed him the same food they ate.
In 2018, Bobi was first Hospitalized because of suddenly collapsing due to breathing difficulty.
Mr. Costa mentioned that Bobi had a peaceful life without many problems. He believed the reason for Bobi’s long life was the calm and peaceful environment he lived in.
But before his passing, he faced challenges with walking and his eyesight had been deteriorating.
Bobi wasn’t the only dog owned by Mr. Costa that lived a long time. Bobi’s mother lived until she was 18 years old, and another dog from the family lived until it was 22 years old.
